I know a World War II veteran who is from East Tennessee but they are not from the Knox, Anderson, Blount Counties. Can they still go?

Yes. Priority is given to those Veterans from Knox, Anderson, and Blount Counties but we never turn any East TN WWII Veteran away. Best thing to do is to fill out the Veterans Application so we have everything we need and they will be placed on the first come first serve list. We will continue to do these flights as long as possible. Our ultimate goal is to help fly every East Tennessee WWII Veteran to Washington DC.

 

What are the requirements to be considered for a HonorAir Knoxville Flight?

Very simply, you must be a World War II Veteran from East Tennessee and never been to the World War II Memorial.

 

Do you turn any Veterans away for possible medical or accessibility issues?

The HonorAir Knoxville program was designed for Veterans that may have a hard time traveling by themselves. Will will never turn a Veteran away as long as we think they can safely make the trip. We have 2 Registered Nurses and 1 Doctor with us throughout the duration of the trip.
